You need to be able to describe what the weather would be like in different places on a map.
High Pressure = Air is sinking. Unlikely to get any precipitation (rain, snow, hail, sleet). Unlikely to be cloudy. In summer = hot or warm weather with clear skies. In winter = cold clear days.
Low Pressure = Air is rising. Likely to get clouds and precipitation (rain, snow, hail, sleet). In winter = cloudy wet days but can be warmer than expected. In summer = cloudy wet days, can be colder than expected for the time of year.
Blue triangles = Cold Front
Red semicircles = Warm Front
