Yr12 - Where does our Oil and Gas come from?

A great map of countries and their main exports.

Yr12 - Climate Change and Global Warming

Great article on just how much our climate is changing.

All the areas that appear to be a dark blue have far more water in the atmosphere than normal. This is caused by the area being warmer than normal.

The article below explains this in more detail.

Image from:  http://www.seafriends.org.nz/oceano/special.htm

Next term we will hopefully be completing two internal assessments one of which you will be able to choose the topic for.

Below is a series of links to recent news items concerning various topics we could look at. The topic has to be based in New Zealand and have a geographical element to it. It also has to be a topic where people have different viewpoints on the issue.

Please have a look at the news items below and add a comment (which you can do at the bottom of this post) stating which topic you are most interested in doing. If you have an idea for a topic that is not listed here please also comment below.

Will be very useful when explaining the location of the Basin Reserve

Yr11 - Just because it's a great photo!

The photo below shows cars during rush hour in Miami. Each red circle contains 70 passengers.

Just shows you what a difference using the bus can make!

World on the brink of another great Extinction.

A very depressing article on the current rapid rate of extinction. Human actions are causing more and more animals and plants to disappear forever from our planet.

Apparently there is hope though.

Could be useful for looking at global patterns or issues.
