From a geographers point of view it shows some great global patterns.

World Cup Geography

Ghana does not produce quite enough electricity to keep everything running in the country. They regularly have to shut down important facilities occasionally to make sure vital resources such as hospitals and water treatment works keep going.

However the World Cup is clearly far more important than anything else. The Government have made sure that everyone will be able to watch.
